$300 could not find me a decent apartment
See, if you think everywhere is beautiful in America, you need to read this.
On December 20, 2023, it will be exactly three years since I came to America.
And the truth is there is so much we assume about this country before we come in.
Let me explain.
I had only $300 savings when I first came here. I wanted a decent family friendly apartment, like the ones I had seen in American movies haha.
But guess what?
$300 was grocery shopping money.
Not enough to rent a decent apartment.
There were some, for $350, but those apartments have many cockroaches.
In fact, there a famous one in Alabama.
The place starts with the letter C for cockroaches lol.
Oh my God.
What is my point? I did not have any money anywhere else, except $300.
And I could not make more money, because I was not on the university’s payroll yet.
In fact, I had to wait for a whole month.
And for several months, I became caught up with the American fallacy- because it is not a dream o.
The American rat race of paycheck, to paycheck.
And I began to feel bad- I came into the country, with lots of monetizable skills, but I do not have a marketing system, and so, I could not make money except I wait on employers every month.
If you are living in any part of the mother land or even in the US, but you want to build a financial system that is not reliant on an employer, consider selling your knowledge.
What I do, as a life coach, is getting paid for my lived experiences, my skills, education etc.
You can do the same, and begin to set things in place, even if you are relocating to another country, or not.
