Count the cost for securing a fully funded
If you won't be paying yourself, this is what you need to know.
Video of the day.
Dear scholar, abundance is here.
As soon as you know that what you want is a fully funded offer, then your work is easy but difficult at the same time.
Easy because you now know what to focus on. That’s easy!
But difficult, because it usually takes some calculations and strategic planning to get fully funded.
In today's newsletter, I will teach you how to count the cost…
Make a list of things to do.
What are the things you will pay for?
What are the things you can get for free?
You can get schools with application fee waivers, and so you don’t really pay for that. So that is something you can note, when estimating what to do/pay for.
You won’t be able to get your transcripts sent to some schools for free. You need to get the money to send those. That is a cost you must factor in your game plan.
You can’t get a visa to study abroad for free. But you are only eligible to get a visa if you get admitted with funding.
Some things you will take care of, others you won’t have to, but will need to prove yourself to get them for free.
I hope you now understand what your plan should look like?
It should be SMART.
Specific. This means you know when you want to be in the US.
Measurable. This means you are not telling yourself that if you apply in July, you will be in the US or Canada in August. I mean you can’t relocate in one month. No way!
Accurate. This means you identify the actual timeliness you need and that you keep to it.
Realistic. This means that you know what is possible and not possible. For instance application fee waivers are very possible. But a visa fee waiver isn’t possible.
Time bound. If you don’t have the discipline to keep to a timeline for achieving this, why then did you choose to start? I know you will encounter many difficulties, but you can do anything if you are in the right circle or community.
