HOW TO WORKOUT FROM DEPRESSION PART 3
Guess what my coping mechanism was before I started working out?
HOW TO WORKOUT FROM DEPRESSION PART 3
Guess what my coping mechanism in the past was?
--------------------------------------------
COACHING CLIENTS!
Well, that is what codependents do!!!
Like, I would keep coaching clients- this was my coping mechanism.
I soon realized #working out, #sleeping and eating well, are better #coping #mechanisms.
When I first started going to the #gym, I did not have a specific goal in mind- I just wanted to #exercise.
I wanted to try everything at the same time.
I was doing everything with "power". Lol, working out does not thrive that way.
Overtime, I began to figure out what my fitness goals should be!
I began to figure out what I exactly was important for my body.
So, as a mom with two boys at the time I began to work out, I know I needed to lose weight around my arm, stomach, thighs and face.
I also knew I wanted my breasts to become firmer. Yep, you heard me right! We want those oranges back lol.
So, even though I didn’t fully understand how to choose a fitness goal, I knew the parts of my body I was insecure about and wanted to see changes.
So, here are things to think about, when setting those #fitness #goals.
1. Your age.
So, while you may be excited for your fitness goals, you need to be realistic.
When I say realistic, you need to think about your age, and what your body can carry.
For instance, someone in his, her or their #50s may not be able to set the same #fitness goals, that a younger person can.
2. Your body.
Everyone has a different body type.
Also, what your body has been through, is different from hat the other person’s body has been through.
I will tell you this: as a mom, I sometimes forget that I have been through two pregnancies.
So, my stomach has been through some stretching, and so, it could take a little more #abs exercises, to get that slim stomach back, and some core exercised to strengthen the weak muscles around that area.
3. Your past habits.
You probably used to eat late nights ice creams, or indulge in other fun habits, and when you choose to treat your body differently, these habits effects on your body will become even more visible to you, and you have to be easy on yourself.
So, when you set those fitness goals, you need to understand that you cannot undo in a week, what habits did to your body in 10 years. You feel me?
4. Timeliness.
Some goals would require that you work out daily and strategically- that is spending more time, or using certain fitness positions- before you begin to see results.
So, you can’t go into the gym or may be work out at home, or go for a run for 10 minutes, and you think that is good enough for visible results. Are you a magician?
