HOW TO WRITE A STATEMENT OF PURPOSE PART 6.
The Conclusion you must read!
📍This is the concluding article in this series.
📍If you have been following this week’s series, notice I have been writing about personal statement, and also shared samples of application essays I have submitted.
📍To refresh your memory, I have shared these key points.
📍SOP is the only essay where you can advocate for yourself in case your college professor did you “strong thing”. You know professors or lecturers still make down students (if you believe this lol)
📍SOP is also called personal statement, so don’t be confused if you see either of the two.
📍SOP is not a letter of introduction.
📍SOP is a document where you can describe your story , and why you have chosen that course of study.
📍PS is an essay that ranges from 2-5 pages to 10 pages, depending on the rigor needed to submit that very application.
📍PS will is required to secure scholarships, grants, fellowships or assistantships.
📍 Learning how to write weekly, can develop your stamina for telling a compelling PS story.
📍 A secret: If you are petitioning for a change of immigration status in the United States as well, you will need something called self petition letter. This document has the style of a statement of purpose.
📍Clearly that petition is your way of telling the government of the United States that you have a mission that will benefit their citizens.
📍Learn to write a PS if you will ever pitch ideas to business partners, investors or even apply for funding for your business or nonprofit. It is the same style, even if the content is NOT the same.
