If you have been following my story, you will realize that I have been sharing about my relocation to study abroad journey.
And I will tell you something that made me cry.
After I finally got an apartment of my own, I needed to find my way around the city.
Hmm, kai “iya jemi”; a Nigerian way of saying, “I suffered ooo”.
I left the house on this faithful day.
Got dressed, and realized, with great faith in the google maps.
I never really paid attention to how google maps worked, until I moved to the United States.
I left home hoping to find my way to Mcfarland Boulevard, as this city- Tuscaloosa Alabama, does not have a good transportation system.
I miscalculated the end of the road I was supposed to turn at, and I was doomed that evening.
I was also not used to studying the weather.
So, I had double trouble for my hustle that day.
A really cold weather.
And no idea where I was headed;
I kept going, and never looked back; but I never found the right place to turn.
And I suffered the same fate, several times, until I figured out that I kept experiencing these hardships because of three things:
Not asking for help
Not asking for help
Not asking for help
You see, like you, I hate to ask for help.
I really suck at being vulnerable.
But, just asking someone to give me a ride, would have ended my misery that day;
I would never had have to deal with a bad weather, or an endless road that leads nowhere for three things:
Enough money
Enough money
Enough money
This is why you need a community. This is why you need a coach.
But you see, if you have money, at some level, you will not deal with certain things;
Like a bad winter, or even using your legs to communicate with google maps, when your car should be the one speaking the maps language.
