When I quit my first job, I was flat broke

I did this job for a week, and I cried!!!!

If you have people living in the United States, you probably know this famous line:

“Sorry, I was at work when you called me.”

“It is my shift today. I will not be able to answer your call.”

“I am on my third shift for the day, so I can’t talk now.”

And most times, you probably get angry, and say, “why is my aunt not reachable?”

‘Why can’t she just talk for long”

You see, things are different in this country, and just having to figure out my first year in the United States, when I was working full time was a lot!

After I quit my job, last December of 2022, because I knew I was just worth more- with my three degrees!

So, I began to apply to other similar positions, and as I sat in all those many interviews, I was offered the same rate, or even less.

And it was annoying!

So, I did not take the job offers, and decided I was gonna try a caregiving job for a few months, while looking for investors for our startup company. I had staff to pay, so I knew I needed to be proactive.

I have heard that people would come to the United States to purse a Phd, and would be working as uber drivers, or doing cleaning jobs, or even just work as nannies, or be a waiter at a restaurant.

And that is the reason many people try to get advanced degrees, hoping it will get them a better job, but they never do.

I worked as a caregiver for two weeks, and here is what I discovered.

I have seen the many sides to living in the United States as an immigrant, and if you need that life-coach, believe me, I am a dm away.

I have learned that when you are super talented, but the jobs out there may never serve you, and if you have bills to pay, you are left with the option of doing the demeaning "s***y jobs, or you reach inward, and monetize your skills, talents or gifts, or something you have result in!

Be it getting that scholarship.

Winning a grant

Moving abroad

Becoming a parent

There is so much, you can monetize!

And there is no limit to the wealth that comes from becoming a knowledge entrepreneur, or a coach on a given subject- you will gain respect, be solving problems, and be fulfilled!
