This is the reason I was denied visa the first time...
See money is good o, and I will tell you why.😟
I have shared several challenges in the relocation to the United States story, and one of the things you probably do not know, is that I was denied visa even though I had a fully funded scholarship.
Let me give you the gist.
After I was offered a full scholarship, to study in Alabama, I found out that we needed to pay visa fees for me, and my boys.
We hustled to raise the funds( you know how all the village people gather to give you money, when you are trying to “japa” but they will not remember you when you are sick- lol,).
That was the story o.
Cleary, we did not even have enough in savings, we had to get sponsor for the children. You know the school was sponsoring me, so I did not need to show any other proof of funds.
Hmmm…
I thought we had everything ready, only for us to be denied visa by the consular officer in Lagos.
My eyes turned red immediately!
But this one lesson this visa experience taught me.
That you need to have enough money, that will scare poverty (Yoruba say this better).
If I had enough money in savings, there was no need for a sponsor.
It would be easier for the consular officer to believe a statement of account in my name, than one in the name of a third party- even though it was legitimate.
Even though I later got my visa, I realized that money is everything in America, and if you can make money online, or learn how to, you will build wealth quickly in this country.
Let me not bore you with my bad visa experience story.
Later today, I will tell you my first experience, trying to get an apartment in Tuscaloosa Alabama, with my lifetime savings of $300.

PS: Me and a group of other students, after a long and tiring English language training class. (Imagine us learning English that we have been speaking since kindergarten haha. Describe us in one word.
PPS: Tell me one thing you have learned today.
I will “see” you tomorrow.
